Tenses is
It is a grammatical category that helps locate a situation in time. The tenses can be present, past or future.
In the English language, tenses are especially important, because they also tell us about the aspect of the main verb. Consider these two sentences:
a. I play football (Aspect: not progressive, imperfect)
- I have been playing football (Aspect: progressive, perfect)
SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE (used to declare an event or activity that is repeated at a time when current ).
FORMULA :
ACTIVE VOICES (S + Verb1 + O/C )
I do my homework every day
She writes some letters now
He does his homework every day
He doesn’t do his homework every day
PASSIVE VOICES (S + To Be(am,are,is) + Verb3 + O )
My homework is done by me every day
Some letters are written by her now
His homework isn’t done by him every day
Is your homework done by you every day ?
PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE (This tense is used to declare an act that actually digunaka to declare an event that is being done today. The sentences in this tense is more often used than in the present tense ).
FORMULA :
ACTIVE VOICES ( S+To Be (am/are is)+Verb Ing )
She is writing some letters now
She is reading in the kitchen
are playing volley now
I am doing my homework now
PASSIVE VOICES (S + To Be(am,are,is) + being + Verb3 + O)
My homework isn’t being done by me now
Some letters are being written by her now
She is not writing in the bedroom
He isn’t playing football now
PRESENT PERFECT TENSE (used to denote activities that had begun in the past and was completed on timenow. the importance is the completion at the present time, not the date / time ofcompletion).
FORMULA :
ACTIVE VOICES (subject + have/has + verb3)
they have met me
you have eaten mine
She has written some letters
Has he done his homework for two hours yet ?
PASSIVE VOICE (S + have,has + been + Verb3+ O)
they have not met me
she has not been to Rome
Some letters have been written by her
Has his homework been done by him yet ?
PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE (used to denote activities that have begun work in the past and still do in the presen)
FORMULA :
ACTIVE VOICE (S + have/has + been + Ving)
I have been doing my homework for two hours
She has been going to Malang since evening
She has been writing some letters for two hours
They have been playing football
PASSIVE VOICE (S+Have/Has+Been+Being+Verb3)
My homework has been being done by me
She hasn’t been going to Malang since evening
Some letters have been being written by her for two hours
They have not been playing football
SIMPLE PAST TENSE (used to denote activities performed at certain times in the past the. important to know the time here).
FORMULA :
ACTIVE VOICE (S+Verb2)
I did my homework yesterday
We were at school yesterday
They were student last year
I didn’t do my homework yesterday
PASSIVE VOICE (S+Was/Were+Verb3)
My homework was done by me yesterday
We were not at school yesterday
they were not student last year
my homework wasn’t done by me yesterday
PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE ( to express events that are happening or activity that is being done in the past when certain).
FORMULA :
ACTIVE VOICE ( S+Was/Were+Verb Ing)
· I was doing my homework when he came
· We were joking
· They were talking about sport when I met him
· Were you doing your homework when he came ?
PASSIVE VOICE (S + was/were + NOT + Ving)
My homework was being done by me when he came
We were not joking
They weren’t talking about sport when I met him.
Was your homework being done by you when he came ?
PAST PERFECT TENSE (This tense expresses action in the past before another action occurs, but it happened in the past).
FORMULA :
ACTIVE VOICE (S+Had+Verb3)
I had done my homework for an hour when he came
When my brother arrived , I had painted my motor cycle
I had listen the radio when you come here
He had done his homework for an hour when we came
PASSIVE VOICE (S + had + not + V3)
My homework hadn’t done by me for an hour when he came
When my brother arrived , I hadn’t painted my motor cycle
The radio hadn’t listen by me when you come here
His homework hadn’t done by him for an hour when we came
PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE (activities are still continuing in the past, at the time of other activities there / done)
FORMULA :
ACTIVE VOICE (S+Had+Been+Verb ing )
When they washed my drees , your father had been playing badminton
She had been helping me when they went to scool
I had been doing my homework for an hour when he came
He had been doing his homework for an hour when he came
PASSIVE VOICE (S+Had+Not+Been+Being+Verb3)
When they washed my dress , your father hadn’t been playing badminton
She hadn’t been being helped me when they went to school
My homework hand’t been being for an hour when he came
His homework hadn’t been being done by him when we came
PRESENT FUTURE TENSE (used to declare an activity to be undertaken in the future)
FORMULA :
ACTIVE VOICE (subject+auxiliary verb WILL+main verb)
I will do my homework tomorrow
President shall at Nederland the day after tomorrow
It will rain tomorrow
She will write some letters tomorrow
PASSIVE VOICE (S + shall/will + be + Verb3 + O)
My homework will be done by me tomorrow
President shall not at Nederland the day after tomorrow
It will be rained tomorrow
Some letters will be written by her tomorrow
PRESENT FUTURE CONTINUOUS TENSE (used to declare an activity to be being done in the future)
FORMULA :
ACTIVE VOICE (S + shall/will + be + (Verb1+ing) + O/C)

He will be teaching me at eight tomorrow
I will be writing a comic
I will be doing my homework tomorrow morning
PASSIVE VOICE (S + shall/will + be + being + Verb3 + O)
Some letters will be being written by her tomorrow
Her teaching me will be at eight tomorrow
I will not writing a comic
My homework will be being done by me tomorrow morning
PRESENT PERFECT FUTURE TENSE (to express an activity that would have been completed in time to come).
FORMULA :
ACTIVE VOICE (S+Will+Have+Verb3)
She will have written some letters
They will be tired when they arrive
You will have forgotten me by then
I will have done my homework by tomorrow evening
PASSIVE VOICE (S + shall/will + have + been + Verb3)
Some letters will have been written by her
they will have been tired when we arrive
you will have been forgotten me by then
my homework will have been done by me tomorrow evening
PRESENT PERFECT FUTURE CONTINUOUS TENSE (to express an activity that would have started and still continues to do in the future).
FORMULA :
ACTIVE VOICE (s + shall/will + have + been + (Verb1+ing))
She will have been writing some letters
He will be tired when he arrives. He will have been traveling for 24 hours
I will have been reading a news paper
I will have been doing my homework tomorrow evening
PASSIVE VOICE (S + shall/will + have + been + being + Verb3)
Some letters will have been being written by her
He will be tited when he arrives. For 24 hours his will have been being traveled
A news paper will have been being readed by me
My homework will have been being done by me yhis evening
PAST FUTURE TENSE (To declare an action / event will happen in the past the).

ACTIVE VOICE (S + should,would + Verb1)
She would write some letters when you came
She would not be at school tomorrow
They would buy a home the previous day
I would do my homework if I had time
PASSIVE VOICE (S + should,would + be + Verb3)
Some letters would be written by her when you came
She would be at school tomorrow
They wouldn’t buy a home the previous day
My homework would be done by me if I had time
PAST FUTURE CONTINUOUS TENSE (to declare an activity to be being done in the past, if .........)
FORMULA :
ACTIVE VOICE (S + should,would + be +(Verb1+ing))
She would be writing some letters on Monday last week
We would be having dinner at home yesterday
I should be swimming at this time the following day
I would be doing my homework if you came last night
PASSIVE VOICE (S + shoul,would + be + being + Verb3)
Some letters would be being written by her on Monday last week
Yesterday they would be being dinner at home
the following day my should be being swimmed At this time

PAST PERFECT FUTURE TENSE (to express an activity that has been done in the past, if .....)

she would have be finished to studied if he had not been lazy
He would have graduated if he had studies hard
I would have done my homework if I had understood it
PASSIVE VOICE (S + should,would + have + been + Verb3)
Some letters would have been written by her if you hadn’t come here
Studied would have been finished by her if he hadn’t not been lazy
Graduated would have been by his if he had studies hard
My homework would have been done by me if I had understood it
PAST PERFECT FUTURE CONTINUOUS TENSE (an activity that is still being done in the past, if .....)

She would have been writing some letters by March this year
We would have been waiting long
Mrs. Anisa Munif would have been walking here for seventeen years
I would have been doing my homework if I had not been ill
PASSIVE VOICE (S + should,would + have + been + being + Verb3)
Some letters would have been being written by her by March this year
They would have been being waited long
For seventeen year mrs. Anisa munif would have been being walked
My homework would have been being done by me if I had not been ill.
